This calendar is nice for planning star gazing and photography in the park, and for those long hikes that can extend into the night.
This is a pdf copy of our 2019 Solar and Lunar Calendar for Rocky Mountain National Park. There is a page for each of the 12 months of the year. The page size is 8.5 x 11.0 inches, so it can be easily printed on your own printer.
This location specific monthly calendar shows, for each day:
- Moon illumination image.
- Night and day hours as dark and bright areas.
- Sunrise and sunset as boundaries between dark and bright.
- Moonrise and moonset as up and down arrows, respectively.
- Text description for any day's events.
For the Rocky Mountain National Park calendar, the specific location used by our solar/lunar calculation software is latitude = 40.366192, longitude = -105.561165 which is the Beaver Meadows Visitor Center.
Daylight savings time changes in March and November are taken care of.
In purchasing this calendar, we grant you the right to print it for your own personal use. With this pdf, you can get a spiral bound calendar made at Office Max or Office Depot for about $7. Below is a photo of the printed calendar we had made at our local Office Max. It has a coil binding with a hole punched near the top for hanging, but we just hang it on our fridge with a super magnet.
We've created this calendar for our own use, and expect to evolve it over time. We hope that it may also be of use to others.
